Red Harvest
When a Red Army Major is ordered to Ukraine to enforce Stalin's collectivization of farms, a defiant widow challenges his mission and beliefs against the Soviet brutality and mass starvation, until his loyalty is shaken so badly he risks everything to secretly help. But a spy reports him to the Communist Party boss causing a showdown from which only one will emerge alive.

<b>Legrand McMullen </b>is an independent screenwriter. He has written four feature length screenplays, three one-hour TV pilots, and many short scripts, in addition to having several story projects in development.
His feature screenplay, <b>Red Harvest</b>, is an <i>Official Finalist</i> in the <b>2015 Cannes Screenplay Contest</b>, <i>Semi-Finalist</i> of the <b>2016 Austin Revolution Film Festival</b>, and <b>2016 New York Screenplay Contest</b> <i>Official Finalist</i>, <b>2016 WorldSeries of Screenwriting</b> <i>Bronze Award Winner</i>, <b>2016 Los Angeles Screenplay Contest</b> <i>Silver Award Winner</i>, and an <i>Official Selection</i> in the <b>2017 Nice International Filmmaker Festival.</b>
He's also written and produced short films, <b>Bird Call</b>, <b>Condemned</b>, and <b>Poetry Stalled</b>.
<b>Bird Call</b> was an <i>Official Selection</i> in the <b>2014 Big Easy International Film Festival</b>, New Orleans, and a Finalist in the <b>2014 High Desert International Film Festival</b>, Nevada. <b>Bird Call</b> was the first curated-to-greelit film to crowdfund on <b>Seed & Spark</b>, a film-only source funding platform.
<b>Condemned</b> is an <i>Official Selection</i> and screened in the <b>2015 Indie Film Festival - Switzerland</b>, the <b>2016 Sedona International Film Festival (Arizona)</b>, the <b>2016 Sunscreen Film Festival, St. Petersburg, FL / Los Angeles CA</b>, the <b>short-filmz.com</b> Finalist Award Winner<b>, 2016 LA Film Review - Bronze Award Winner</b>, the <b>2016 IndieFest Film Awards - "Award of Excellence" Winner</b>, also and Official Selection at the <b>2016 Richmond International Film Festival</b> and <b>2016 SOMA Film Festival</b>. The film is currently under consideration at film festivals worldwide.
Legrand also created, produced and wrote an animated web series entitled <b>Modern Mayhem</b>, eight episodes of which have been released on <b>YouTube</b> and <b>FunnyOrDie.com.</b>
He's an alumni of Robert McKee's Story Workshops and an active Professional Member of the Writers Bootcamp in Los Angeles. He's published three volumes of poetry and some of his work has been published in The Lake Superior Review, California State Poetry Quarterly, Pacific Poetry & Fiction Review, Pigiron Magazine, Carousel Magazine, and Chrysalis Magazine. He also qualified to apply for a National Endowment for the Arts Poetry Fellowship. He grew up in Asia and the United States, and has travelled throughout Europe, Central America, Canada and Alaska.
