Director Biography - Tobias LaMontagne

Tobias is an award-winning Filmmaker based in Massachusetts, US. His experience ranges from Music Videos to Narrative & Promotional content, for clients including: Sony Music Entertainment, Rounder Records, RCA Records and more. Tobias has worked alongside musical artists Ray LaMontagne, I'm With Her, Rachael Sage and Angela Petrilli. Heavily influenced by classical cinema, Tobias’ style incorporates colorful, abstract imagery, blended with carefully crafted set pieces and vivid cinematography. The highly successful official music video for Ray LaMontagne’s “We’ll Make It Through” (consisting of dozens of found-photographs, filmed in the style of 8mm) further demonstrates Tobias’ intense focus on storytelling and visual style. All of which is brought together through his own hands-on work in Editing and Post Production. His original films have played in National and International film festivals including the PBS Online Film Festival, the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY), the Scout Film Festival and more.

Director Statement

"The List" was an amazing film to create. It was such a wonderful experience for me as a young Director. Production ran for one month, and at the end of filming the frame total was nearly 5000.
