Private Project

in 90 degrees heat

Four women in different ages are relaxing in a sauna. They had never meet before; now they meet once a week for sauna bathing. In the heat their chitchat deepens into conversations. We follow them getting to know each other: Julia tells us about her motorbike, Olga about her mother and Karin about how it is to fall in love again. The movie takes place inside the sauna, the women are naked all the time. A love letter to relaxed nudity.

The women was invited into the sauna, with the instruction of bathing as usual in 90 degrees heat. It was important that the they met there for the first time, as the film explores the sauna as a public space. The crew worked naked a long side the women.

The movie want to take an uncomplicated approach to the naked body, displaying beauty across generations. There are no conversations commenting on the naked body. The image speaks on its own, with the intention to give space for own reactions.
