Director Biography - Patricia Guerra Ovín

Patricia Guerra Ovín is a Film Director, Writer, Producer and Contemporary Artist. Whilst studying her BA in Contemporary Theatre, she wrote and directed several theatre productions that combined live performance and film. During this time she also produced various short films that featured her unique sense of humor within surrealist environments. Her eclectic work is characterized by striking visuals, evocative themes and technical innovation. After completing an MA in Film Production, she made her feature film debut with Giving Up The Ghost, a dramatic thriller.

Director Statement

Giving Up The Ghost is a female-directed feature film.

The project has been filmed in Oldham (Manchester) and features an ensemble UK cast led by US actor, Mark Arnold (Bridget Jones's Baby / Florence Foster Jenkins / Teen Wolf).

We shot the entire project in nine days with a micro budget and aimed to create a film that interlaces serious drama and action with a touch of humor.
