I could just drift, he thought, and sleep

" I could just drift, he thought, and sleep' is a video inspired by Ernest Hemingway's novel; 'The old man and the sea'. I have worked with this theme since 2016 and made a series of drawings based on the same theme (The Old man and the sea series'). Nothing in particular happens in the video and it could be shown in a loop. There is no real beginning or end to it. It has no message other than the stillness in movement. The apparent nothingness of the surface of the ocean, the beauty and the significance of it.

Director Statement

They main focus in my work of recent years has been video. I currently have 5 videos finished and about 5 more that need to be finished. Hand held, as if to ensure the 'hand' of 'touch' of the artist is still visible, like how in a drawing you can trace the artist's decision in the pencil traces on the paper. The video's subjects vary from horses, to windows, to the ocean. The video's are poetic moving images of subjects that captivate me. Some are more narrative that others. Some are purely aesthetic. Visual poetry.
