Peaberry Film Festival believes in these things:
- Every film should screen in-person.
- Every screening should be treated like its own special event.
- If your audience is just other filmmakers, is it really an audience?
- Forget pomp and circumstance, let's party.
With these things in mind, we're open to films of any kind by anybody with the goal of creatively programming so films not only uplift each other, but also are engaged with by the community.
Here's what filmmaker Hudson Phillips has to say:
"The historic Canton Theatre is a beautiful and perfectly-sized venue and every screening was packed! Might be my favorite screening yet with a fully engaged audience and an incredible Q&A following with such intelligent questions. Loved getting to see the other shorts and docs - all of which were fun and personal and well done - and getting to know the other filmmakers, volunteers, and attendees. Plus, Canton has amazing bars and restaurants keeping us properly fed (and tipsy?)"
We show films at the historic Canton Theatre, a gorgeous place that dates back to 1911 when the theatre was a popular scene for silent movies. It's a lovely place to watch your movie in a cute downtown with lots of other fun stuff to do.
Send us your best, we can't wait to see it.
Awards aren't really our thing, but giving out goodie bags to every attending filmmaker is, and we try to spoil you as much as we possibly can.
