The Wasaga Film Festival is dedicated to the discovery and promotion of Film Makers, Story tellers and Artists and sharing with audiences. Everyone has a story to tell, our goal is to inspire and encourage people to share their stories using the media of film and to create events that enable the sharing of those stories across communities and beyond.

Our Vision:
“Bringing the World to Wasaga Beach through a shared passion for film and the power of storytelling.”

In 2016 the Town of Wasaga Beach designated the month of November as Film Festival month. Home to the world’s longest freshwater beach and set in the beauty of Southern Georgian Bay, throughout the month of November the Wasaga Film Festival hosts screenings during the festival's week of all qualifying entries leading up to our Red Carpet Gala Event at the beginning of November.

With steady growth over the past 7 years The Wasaga Film Festival has more than tripled its entries, including film submissions from local, national and International film makers and storytellers.

The Film Festival is entering its 8th year.

  • Everything about this festival-- is one for my own personal history book! As a first time filmmaker I had some trepidation about submitting . However, right from the beginning the team at the festival were extremely welcoming and informative. The films were shown in venues that made the view and votes accessible to the community, ie, Seniors residence and library, which spoke volumes to me about the heart of this event. The gala, great entertainment, well planned, and a festive atmosphere. Nice Job everyone!! Thank you.
