The international short film festival "The CortOZ" ORGANIZED BY HOJALATA.-ART AND CULTURE & THE O.Z. was born in 2008 with the aim of creating an opportunity for those who are regular spectators to become creators, promoting and disseminating the 7th art, contributing to culture and improving quality. national cinema. In its thirteen edition for 2024, the festival will take place between November 11th and 13th, 2024 at the Oz Cinema, Chillán, Chile.

The festival's competition space will be held as long as there is a call or participation equal to or greater than 20 short films. If the established quorum is not reached, the works will be exhibited and the short films will be automatically registered for the next version of the festival.

The following categories will be recognized in the competitive categories:

BEST SHORT FILM (Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Experimental) - $1500 and Plaque

SECOND BEST SHORT FILM (Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Experimental) - $1000 and Certificate

THIRD BEST SHORT FILM (Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Experimental) - $500 and Certificate

Only short films with a maximum runtime of 30 minutes will be received

Films must be subtitled in English if original language is not English.

The call for The CortOZ Festival is at the National level (Chile) and International level.

Works in which people or animals are actually damaged will not be accepted. Damage means any physical or psychological abuse

The director of the work will be responsible for the copyright used, be it music, images, videos, etc, it is recommended to use royalty-free material or the use of your own material.

Not all short films will be selected to participate in the competitive categories, and it will be the entire organizing committee who selects the competing short films.

For films selected in the non-competitive categories, selected filmmakers will be notified accordingly.
