Hi,
My name is Robert Cummins and I am passionate about bringing stories to life with my friends and community in North Carolina.

A few years ago I swallowed my pride and started from scratch. I was making short films that I thought festivals and producers wanted to see, but it just wasn't working. That’s when I decided to just start having fun again.

It was then that I founded Dogma Cape Fear, a film collective of emerging filmmakers in eastern North Carolina. My first short with Dogma was only 1 minute long and my current film, Origin Story, is 3 minutes long. I've been slowly working on my craft, expanding each film a little bit and focusing on my passion, science fiction.

By selecting Origin Story, you will be accepting a thriving community of filmmakers. Dogma Cape Fear is composed of amateurs, students, industry professionals and everyone in-between.

Dogma is a safe place for students to learn and it's also a fun environment for filmmakers to try new ideas for free. We primarily make 1 minute short films for Instagram. We have a few guidelines: no one gets credit, no one gets paid, everything must be shot in one day, we share equipment, and we work on each other's projects. However, when one of our projects is accepted into a festival, we may bend the rules.

This is just the beginning of my film journey. I have so many stories to share. Please consider Origin Story for your festival. We want to bring the Dogma Cape Fear vibe to your town.
