The International Archaeology Film Festival is a biennial event organized by the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments in Split, Croatia and takes place in the Museum in the beginning of November.
Films submitted for the festival cover a wide range of subjects from archaeology and cultural heritage to monument protection and anthropology.
The festival consists of international and national films in competition as well as an accompanying program made of lectures, restrospectives and/or exhibitions. All foreign films are subtitled in Croatian.
Entry to the festival is free.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize will be awarded by the Festival expert jury.
The prize represents a replica of the sculpture Croatian King by Croatian sculptor Vasko Lipovac.
The Jury may decide on a special mention if deemed necessary.
The Audience Prize will be awarded to the best film according to public votes.
A special prize is awarded by the Students' Jury.

The Festival invites directors and producers of documentary films with a topic in archaeology and cultural heritage.
Eligible for the Festival are films produced after January 1, 2020 including films already presented to the public by means of TV or other Festivals. All forms are welcome. There is no limit as to the duration of the films.
No fee is charged for participating authors.
The selection results will be announced May 1, 2024. Authors of selected films shall be notified and invited to submit screening copies. The film shall be submitted in full HD resolution. If there are several versions of the film, the screening version has to be identical to the selection one.
The Museum is entitled to use film stills, trailers and photograph of the director in the Festival catalogue, poster, Museum and festival website as well as in media.
The Museum is entitled to show the films for non-commercial and educational purposes within its programs with the aim of promoting the Festival and museum at events such as the Museum Night, International Museum Day etc.
The Museum shall have the right to show part (10%) of a selected film in TV programs, announcements and reports from the Festival, as well as on the Museum and festival website and social media.
By submitting the film to the Festival, directors and producers accept the Rules and Terms and confirm that all entered data are true and that full copyright has been cleared.

    Although I didn't get to attend the festival. Communicating with Lada was a pleasure and a breeze. I highly recommend applying!
