Golden Pictures Short Film Festival was born out of a pure passion for the art of filmmaking and screenwriting. We accept all genres, and our mission is simple: to celebrate hardworking independent creators and give them the global platform and exposure they deserve. Whether you are a Director, Actor, Actress, working behind the lens or a writer crafting a script, we are committed to providing a quality venue where your voice can be heard, seen, and appreciated.

Founded by industry veteran Richard A. Pines, Golden Pictures is run by filmmakers, for filmmakers. Having spent decades on both sides of the camera—including Co-Star roles on General Hospital and Days of Our Lives, as well as directing the multi-award-winning shorts on the festival circuit-Bequest, Apache Girl, and Feature Documentary Anna May Wong, First Chinese American Movie Star. RicMel Productions launched this festival out of a desire to stay connected to the indie community and give back to fellow artists.

We know exactly how much heart, hustle, and dedication goes into making a movie or writing a screenplay. That’s why our team at RicMel Productions personally reviews every single entry with the utmost respect. We are not a corporate machine; we are a community-focused festival dedicated to promoting cultural understanding, education, and great storytelling through the freedom of creative expression.
