FICA.VC - Festival Internacional Colaborativo Audiovisual

Crowdfunding is one of the manifestations of a larger change that the world is going through: the collaborative economy. Driven not only by technological advances, but also by systemic economic crises, environmental pressures and a change in values ​​among new generations, the collaborative economy emerges as a response to the new challenges of the 21st century.

The new model shifts the power of the institutions of industrial society and distributes it to networked communities, profoundly changing the way the world produces, consumes, learns and finances its actions.

FICA.VC aims to bring together the Brazilian and international community of filmmakers, content producers and enthusiasts to strengthen the audiovisual ecosystem. It is a call to rethink the sector, expand possibilities and collaborate!

The Cine Odeon, the Rio Art Museum (MAR) and the Sebrae Reference Center for Brazilian Crafts (CRAB) will host audiovisual exhibitions of features and shorts, fiction and documentaries, television films, series, video clips, animation, YouTuber and video art, in addition to tables and workshops on audiovisual and its languages. Programming at CRAB will be free and only screenings at Cine Odeon and workshops at MAR will be charged.

There will be 5 days of lectures, panels, workshops and film screenings financed and made collaboratively. The discussions will be based on the 4 pillars of the collaborative economy defined by researcher Rachel Botsman: Production, Consumption, Education and Financing. And, at different levels of depth, or rather, indicative classification: free, intermediate and advanced.
