BHFF promises to be one of the leading horror festivals in the country with over 10 days of classic and cult screenings.
Building on our previous experiences of film festivals we plan on making the BHFF an event to remember. Not only will you be able to watch your favourite horror movies but our fancy dress awards evening is one not to be missed!

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Films must have been completed from 2020 onwards.

Older films from 2000 to 2020 can be entered into our vintage category.

Films submitted must have a Horror theme and fit the genre in some way.

Entry fees are non-refundable even if submission is withdrawn.

Waiver codes are awarded at the discretion of the festival organisers.


Short film entries must not exceed a running time of 30 minutes.

All entries must be submitted via the FilmFreeway website.

All submissions are reviewed by the festival committee and committee decisions are finale.

Award winners are decided by the Grand Jury Members
Feedback and comments are not always possible due to the amount of submission and will be provided at the festival’s discretion.

All films must be of standard cinema aspect ratio and resolution with a minimum of 1080hd resolution.

A screener version of your film will be required if chosen for screening, failure to provide suitable exhibition copy of your submissions may result in removal from screening schedule.

By agreeing to participate in the Birmingham Horror Film Festival, submitters and filmmakers grant the rights to utilise an excerpt from any film submitted for promotional purposes of the festival. The individual or production company submitting the film hereby warrants its use for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements, rules and regulations.

By submitting to the Birmingham Horror Film Festival, you declare you have full rights to exhibit the material in a public forum. In any arising copyright dispute, Birmingham Horror Film Festival can not be held liable and the filmmakers or production company agree to accept such liabilities if any occur.

All submission must follow the rules set out on the FilmFreeway platform.
