Sergey Znamensky was born in 1985 in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. He studied at the Nizhny Novgorod State University in its department of history, as well as in the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He has worked in the film industry since 2006. During this time he has been an editor for many television programs and several films and has worked on projects for Egor Konchalovsky, Anna Melikyan, and others. He has long worked as a television director at Channel 3 Moscow, as a director and producer for commercials and music videos, and stage director for several theatrical entertainments. He is a screenwriter of shorts and feature-length films, television programs, and also plays. He made his directorial debut with The Real Screenplay (2018).
