Youth will not sleep
It is one of those nights when everything can change. When you don’t know anymore if time goes forward or backward like a broken record. It is a bunch of teenagers in waiting, stuck in a mountain boarding school, seeking a welcoming face. It is Judith who, above all, wants Dagan back.

Perrine Lamy-Quique is a writer, director and film teacher. Born in France in 1983, she followed a double university course in Letters and Cinema. After the Agregation of Modern Letters, she began to teach cinema in different contexts (CPGE, BTS, high school ...). In 2021, she released her first story on the forgotten Roc des Fiz disaster, titled DANS LEUR NUIT, published by Editions du Seuil (Fiction et cie), as well as a fictional short film YOUTH WILL NOT SLEEP which was selected for Clermont-Ferrand, ainsi qu'en Egypte, au Mexique, en Inde, en Palestine.
I made this film with my film students, as a tribute to Stella Mirabells, one of my former high school students, murdered by her boyfriend ... It's a film about love, memory, trauma. A sort of sacrificial, crushed rock poem. We have written. and prepared this film all together in just 4 months. It was shot in 9 days in the high school in my native village, in Haute-Savoie. It is a film made in a gesture, we did not have time to ask for financial support, but we obtained a lot of indirect aid from structures, companies and partners in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, in particular for the casting. We were also able to finalize the post-production in reputable studios.
