January - beginnings, transitions, resolutions, Capricorns, cold. Deep cold. The holidays are over, the thaw is still months away. Gym memberships are opened that can never be cancelled. Life continues as in December, or November, but there is less to look forward to - just work, day in, day out. (And how short are the days…) There is plenty of time for self reflection, yearning, and planning, but mostly - waiting. Waiting for it all to end, for an easier life in summer, no more chapped hands, cracked lips and runny noses. Scraping down the windshield after an overnight rain froze. Getting home from work or school at 5:30 in complete darkness. Waking up in complete darkness. Through it all, waiting, waiting, waiting. Waiting for it all to end…
