Director Statement

Having a background in music video direction and editing - I was trying to make that as an advantage during this project with an experimental way of story-telling. It was a great experience for me to try to get out of the traditional way of storytelling, I didn't chain myself by the rules of cinematography, it's not that I'm against it, but I was searching for something new and successfully inspired our D.O.P Suren Tadevosyan the same. I could say that we were truly free for the first time in our careers, to make something from deepest parts of our minds and memories, and not thinking about what would people say about it. You may think that it was a very selfish way of making a thing for others to watch, but maybe art is a science of ego?
I love this film not because it is the most complicated and great work of mine, but because it's the most honest, and maybe that makes it the best of my works.
I did a lot of "good stuff", but "Where is Music" is the one that I truly wish to share with others, it is about the spirit of music. Don't search a story in it, you won't find anything if you look at it in a traditional way. Instead try to watch it as you listen to a music, then you'll find many stories there.
