Wendy (Jean) Wilkins is an award-winning screenwriter, filmmaker and comedian and the one and only phone call you need to make from jail. Full of upstate New York pride, you can catch Wendy on stage every night in Los Angeles, California and all over the United States charming crowds with her all-too-truthful sass. In the daytime, she writes, directs, produces, and acts in a constant flow of funny reality.
After her dramatic sci-fi hour pilot script, HOMETOWN, won the Fast Track VI Fellowship in the fall of 2016, Wendy was put under the development umbrella of the International Screenwriters Association. That script also won best feature for the Space & Time Film Festival in 2018. Wendy’s feature comedy script, WHERE THE MEN ARE, won the 2018 Creative World Awards, and Best Comedy Screenplay for the 2019 Creative Screenwriting Awards.
In 2019, she was named one of ISA’s Top-25 Screenwriters to Watch. Her half-hour dramedy, COOZE, won the Emerging Screenwriters Genre Competition in 2021 for Best Comedy Pilot Script. After her post-apocalyptic hour pilot, ONE MORE DAY, won best screenplay at the Sherman Oaks Film Festival in 2019 and then the Space & Time Film Festival in 2020, she turned it into a radio play, which currently has over 70k listens on YouTube.
Wendy has also been a Warner Brothers Writers’ Workshop Participant (2005), an ABC/Disney Writing Program Finalist (2003), a Final Draft’s Big Break Contest Top-10 Finalist (2011), a Women In Film: NY/Meryl Streep Writers Lab Finalist (2015), and an Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Second Rounder (2018/2020/2022).
Though she has over 50 other writing awards, Wendy is self-repped. You can contact her at wendyjeanwilkins@gmail.com. To catch her stand-up, check out her Instagram: @wendyjean or on the Pure Comedy Channel on Sirius XM radio.
