Escaped from her hick heritage of upstate New York, Wendy Jean Wilkins is an award-winning screenwriter, filmmaker and comedian who been in Hollywood for over 30 years. Wendy has been a Warner Brothers Writers’ Workshop Participant, an ABC/Disney Writing Program Finalist, a Final Draft’s Big Break Contest Top-10 Finalist, a Women In Film: NY/Meryl Streep Writers Lab Finalist, and an Austin Film Festival Second Rounder three times.
In 2019, was named one of ISA’s Top-25 Screenwriters to Watch.
Many of Wendy’s scripts have kicked ass on the competitions circuit. Her road picture comedy, WHERE THE MEN ARE, won Best Comedy Screenplay at both the 2019 Creative Screenwriting Awards and the 2018 Creative World Awards. Her sci-fi original pilot script, HOMETOWN, won the ISA Fast Track VI Fellowship and the 2018 Space & Time Film Festival screenplay competition. Her post-apocalyptic pilot, ONE MORE DAY, won best screenplay award for the 2020 Space & Time Film Festival and the 2019 Sherman Oaks Film Festival.
Her latest half-hour pilot dramedy script, COOZE, won the 2021 Emerging Screenwriters: Genre Competition, which earned her a development spot with the International Screenwriters Association.
In total, her scripts have been awarded in over 50 other writing competitions.
In 2015, she produced her pilot, ONE MORE DAY, into a radio drama, which currently has over 67K listens on YouTube.
