We Make Movies

'We Make Movies' is a hilarious and heartfelt look "behind the scenes" as a group of college kids spend their summer making a movie for their town's Film Festival. Cameras chronicle the tumultuous ups and downs (mostly downs) as an egotistical student Director rounds up his friends (and some bystanders) to help make his masterpiece: a movie that blends together all the greatest films ever made.

Director Statement

"We Make Movies" is a comedic love letter to the hard work of making movies. Inspired by my many summers spent running around the neighborhood making movies in friends’ backyards, "We Make Movies" is a comedy that’s both satirical and very personal.

We believe it’s a film that will resonate with anyone who’s ever picked up a video camera or secretly practiced their awards speech in the mirror; and one that anyone who’s ever faced the struggles of making a film will identify with – and hopefully laugh with. It was my thesis film as I recently graduated from the school Cinema & Media Arts at Biola University, and was produced entirely by a crew of college students who volunteered their time and wallets to make a movie that we couldn’t be prouder of. We truly hope you enjoy “We Make Movies.”
