Director Biography - Zhandong MA

Ma Zhandong, male, independent documentary producer. In 2001, he started to shoot and make documentary. His works have been shown in film festivals in Germany, Holland, Iceland, Denmark, Japan, Hong Kong and other countries. He was the final judge of the 14th Beijing Independent Film Festival and the reexamination judge of the 12th Xining FIRST Youth Film Festival. "May Day" won the Best Documentary Award in the 2011 Hong Kong Chinese Documentary Film Festival, and "Sea Stone Bay" won the Humanitarian Award in the Documentary Competition Unit of the 12th China Independent Film Festival.
