HORiZONS : Waynak
HORiZONS : Waynak is a web-documentary in 6 episodes that makes you discover and collaborate with sustainable projects around the world that are currently developing short-, middle- and long-term solutions to impact the refugee ‘crisis.’ It debunks the Refugee crisis and encourages the viewer to be part of the solution.
For 6 months, MakeSense and What Took You So Long filmed dozens of projects in Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Greece, France, the UK and Germany. All those initiatives are developing solutions to many of the pitfalls on the roads of refugees.
From surviving while fleeing their countries, to getting access to basic needs like housing, health services, security, wifi… to integrating tools like learning a language, finding a job, contributing to society... in one word : living.
Waynak is 6 episodes (short docs of about 8 minutes) with one theme each (children’s education in camps, self expression through arts, music, access to information…). Those 6 inspiring projects are the first of a long list sourced by the MakeSense community.
Just like MakeSense STORiES articles, the goal of this webdoc is to turn the viewer into a changemaker. Each and every episode can link you to several real-life challenges encountered by those projects.
