Situated in the southwest region of scenic Orange County, Warwick isn’t just the home of apple orchards, vineyards, Doc’s Hard Apple Cider and Applefest. It is the site of The Warwick Summer Arts Festival.
The Warwick Summer Arts Festival is Orange County’s premiere arts festival presenting work in diversified locations to audiences of all ages. This year the WSAF celebrates its 15th anniversary with Fusion Fest, July 19th - 26 . In 2014, in partnership with the Warwick Drive-In, the Festival premiered the first Warwick Drive-In Film Festival presenting works of various independent filmmakers. Built in 1950, The Warwick Drive-In is a 3 screen digital format theater set on 5 acres. On July 23rd, the second annual Warwick Drive-In Film Festival will again screen short films at the Warwick Drive-in.
Founded by Elizabeth Reese in 2000, the Warwick Summer Arts Festival has brought crowds to underused parks, created a performance venue on a farm in the middle of the black dirt and established an annual Main St. storefront art exhibit. As Orange Country’s premiere arts festival, Warwick Summer Arts Festival has continued to bring great music to the region as well as commissioning and presenting original work. WSAF continues to expand and honor its tradition with the co-directorship of Melissa Padham-Maass & Marcela Bumpus beginning in 2014.
We look to present original work that is both challenging and inspiring. Our mission is to bring the arts out to every part of the community: the parks, the storefronts, and the farms. We enjoy collaborating with local, national, and global artists to create site specific works as well as main stage performances Through our program of master classes and community workshops, in addition to presenting work in several locations, we reach audiences of all ages.
The best short film will receive a cash prize of $200.
The winner will be decided by audience vote.
