Waiphri

Sainsring Rajiyung is a sincere and honest man with a dream to develop his village. He has deep feelings for Barbili, his batch mate in the college. However, her father – Monjoy Daulagupu, a powerful politician in a hills district of Assam, disapproves his social development initiatives. And the story gradually evolves into a political drama with the politicians-bureaucrats-militants’ nexus comes to the fore and the community’s struggle for justice under Sainsring’s leadership, raising the issues of corruption and development, takes the centre stage.

Director Biography - Dipankar Mech Diphusa, Ananta Borah

Dipankar Mech Diphusa stepped into the world of cinema with "Waiphri," his debut directorial venture. Previously, he has been associated with numerous feature films and TV series, like "Xongram" as an Assistant Director, and "Kaal Xondhya" (TV series) as a story writer, among others.

Ananta Borah has been associated with a number of feature films as Production Designer like “Marksheet” (2016), “Gangs of North East” (2017), “Rum Vodka and Whiskey: Cocktail of Love” (2017), “Tumi Malala” (2020), "Pepper Chicken (2021)" and "Rhino Express" (2022), among others. “Waiphri” is his first feature film as Director.
