Vortex
a documentary by llano
Violent explosions and dull outcomes have characterized social processes in Latin America. A kind of spiral where the temporal advance is divided with images and stories that seem to repeat themselves.
Vortex is the reconstruction of the emotional and visual memory of the first two months of the Chilean social revolt in the spring of 2019, marked by the light and the political re-encounter of a self-exiled filmmaker.
It is the incessant search for a balance between the political deconstruction of a country and the reorganization of the experiences recorded during demonstrations and long walks through a circuit of streets and avenues that seem to have no way out.
Meanwhile, the story of Lepe, a homeless, tries to save us from drowning through his way of seeing freedom.
Vortex is the encounter and re encounter with the Latin American magic and state violence.
