Vorsa — a «forest man» — a mythological figure of the Komi people, the wood spirit. He is the master and protector of the forest, and of travellers on a long journey. A pale face without eyebrows or lashes, brittle bones, tall and slender. He takes away the children cursed by their mothers, and keeps the thieves and murderers lost in a forest forever. The faces of his family can’t be seen by any mortal man
