Filmmaker passionate about bringing emotions to life through films about unlikely characters.
Victoria Duncan is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a major in film and television production and minors in entertainment business and child mental health studies.
Victoria has always been astounded by cinema's ability to capture the joys, humor, sadness, and perseverance of the human spirit. Her work is strongly influenced by cultural trends as well as female-driven coming-of-age topics.
During her time at NYU, Victoria directed over a dozen short films, production designed several projects, and interned at Saturday Night Live and Fox Searchlight Pictures. In addition, she conducted research for Ark Media (a documentary production company which produced Ken Burns', Cancer: The Emperor of all Maladies, and the PBS's, Makers: Women in Space) as well as Glenn Beck's The Blaze TV.
Victoria's perspective was widened during her travels in Europe during the Spring of 2015. At the renowned Film and TV School of the Academy of the Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU), she conquered directing non-English speaking child actors in a 35mm period piece.
In May of 2015, she showcased her stop motion animated film, Radiant, in the Short Film Corner at the 68th Annual Cannes Film Festival in France.
Since graduated, Victoria has gained a broad range of professional experience. She has worked as a set production assistant for The Blacklist (Season 4), working closely with lead actor, James Spader, a props assistant for Tina Fey's The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and a post production assistant for USA's hit show, The Sinner.
Outside of directing, Victoria specializes is in post production, knowing that it's where a story truly comes alive. She has worked on the post teams for the Golden Globe-Winning limited series, Fosse/Verdon, the popular VICE docu-series for Showtime, and many others. Her goal is to never stop learning and creating, with the goal to eventually direct a feature.
Victoria's passions also include shimmying into a zumba class near you and meeting people totally different from herself.
