Director Biography - Raphael Zürcher, Tina Mantel

Raphael Zürcher *1984: In his artistic work, Zürcher deals with questions of self-perception and the perception of others. In his films and visual worlds he embarks on a voyage of discovery into the depths and abysses of the human condition. In addition to freelance film work, Zürcher produces commissioned works for the BAK, SBB and Coop, among others, as the owner of the company Videographie. Since 2012, Zürcher has been working as a lecturer for video and film and head of the media workshop at the F+F in Zurich.

Director Statement

What are the losses we all experienced due to the pandemic and its aftermath?
Thoughts from people affected in different ways give us insights into other life circumstances. We remember together experiences of isolation, sadness, aggression but also hope and humour.
We share our longings to be seen, heard and touched by each other.
What is said is expressed in dance, film and music on an artistic level. The result is an atmospheric, sometimes surreal world of images and sounds that stimulates reflection - so that these experiences can have a positive effect.
Because what unites us in all our diversity is the need for human closeness, no matter what phase of life we are in.
