Director Biography - Mary Rooney

Mary Rooney was raised in a nature reserve in West Palm Beach, Florida. She self-published her first comic book at the age of 6 and since then, she has sought out a career in the animation industry. This drove her to spend the last four years studying animation and storyboarding at the Savannah College of Art and Design. In the final year of her SCAD education, she had the opportunity to direct a vibrant film based on her personal experiences growing up and maintaining relationships. With her film, she wanted to create characters that people could relate to, while mixing in a bit of fantasy. After all, it’s what makes life fun.
