Dance Short Film about the dream for equality in changes in life, status and freedom between women and men.

Only a few will see the sorrow, but every woman knows the struggle in her own way. She tries to be what is accepted and normal in a world where the majority acts the way they have learned without thinking and self-reflection. She is fed up of being seen as the weakest, the guilty one and the object of seduction. Those one-sided thoughts that are made by narrow visioned man originate frustration and despair.

She wonders what would be the right answer. Running away from bias and unwritten rules or show her story about equality with the power of movement.

Director Biography - Mike Pasarella

Mike Pasarella is a Dutch Fashion Photographer, Filmmaker and Director with Italian roots. Starting as a casting director for Dutch and American films and commercials, he found his passion for telling stories where reality meets fiction. In his work as a photographer, he tries to find the pure soul of the person and portray it in a raw matter.

Slow build-ups, extreme sound design and elements of sci-fi are three aspects he loves and tries to add to his films. Although Mike entered the film world just recently after years working as an internationally acclaimed fashion photographer, he believes that every film and every story is built upon single images and a well-thought composition.

Director Statement

First of all, this statement is from both me as Adriana Pasarella. Especially she knows about the double standards of freedom of expression first hand.

This film is an important art piece that probably is difficult to get a stage. Online platform use content blocking and play a role in shaming women more than ever before. Women always have to fight against the power of men, but are online shamed and blocked because of the strange fear of the beauty that a woman brings in the world. With her intellect and power as well as all the natural beauty of the body.

This film is an important message that shows the dark side, but also gives a guide for better more equal world for both men and women.
