this film is a part of my ongoing video series named after bandagi shah, my sufi ancestor who came to india in the 15 th century who symbolises an itinerant open mind. I often use natural imagery in my art to reflect the inner landscape, the camera footage of the lake was filmed by me in the troubled region of indian kashmir. the urdu poem by Faiz called Dua is recited by Zehra Nigah and it invokes compassion and love for people in strife torn parts of the world. I have employed images of water as i do in my paintings, photographs and poems to voice the message of hope and peace.
