Luke Ostermiller (born September 1st, 1995 in Albuquerque, NM) is a director, editor and cinematographer currently based in Colorado. Since early childhood, Luke had always been fascinated by movies and began experimenting with filmmaking on his own at age 12. He attended Warren Career and Technical School for 2 years of TV/Video production and one semester at the Colorado Film School before deciding to drop out and start his own production company, Loste Films. A merger with D&O Studios Inc. allowed Luke to retain use of the trade name while reaping the benefits of operating within a larger company. In 2016, Luke directed the short Turn Around; his first official studio film with D&O Studios.
What ultimately became Turn Around was a premise for a short film that I had been toying around with for over a year before it became a serious project. Looking back on all the changes it’s gone through over the course of it’s existence makes me happy that it got produced when it did. It really feels like all the pieces just fell together at the perfect time. The entire cast was awesome to work with - it was remarkable seeing these characters brought to life by such a talented group! I can honestly say out of all the projects I’ve worked on, Turn Around was easily one of the most enjoyable experiences on set. Out of everything, however, what I’m the most proud of is the way everyone pushed themselves. Doing a project like this was ambitious but still everybody involved went above and beyond as far as I’m concerned.
