"to the last of a dying breed"
"to the last of a dying breed" is an ode to ride-or-die friends who make you feel invincible, even when it feels like the world's ending.

I am an award-winning filmmaker and animator with a BFA degree in Illustration/Animation from California State University Long Beach. For as long as I can recall, drawing has been a huge component of my life. After creating a festival winning animated music video during my senior year of high school, I knew animation was my career.
During my time at CSULB, I was heavily involved in the program. I was a manager of the department computer lab, co-organizer of the international animation competition 24 Hours Animation Contest, and the leading voice that organized the animation programs’ first off-campus thesis screening, Double Exposure. In addition to my dedication to the program, I also directed my award-winning and 2019 Student Academy Finalist thesis film, Push.
Professionally, I have collaborated with various artists and have interned twice as an Animation intern at Pixar Animation Studios and contributed as a Crowds/Fix Animator on Onward. I currently work at a startup animation studio and continue to freelance with my small team called Loud Bird Productions. My current breadth of work consists of animated music videos and shorts both personal and client requested. On the off-chance I’m not working --or in quarantine for a global pandemic, I can be found hiking, seeking my next delicious meal, or teaching high schoolers how to spin a baton.
A heavy consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic was the physical distancing I had to endure from my close friends from school. That was until artist Wu Am I, messaged me one day through Instagram and asked if I was interested in directing an animated music video for his upcoming single, “to the last of a dying breed”. This anthem, dedicated to his ride-or-die friends, captures their cherished college memories before parting ways after graduation, only to be reunited once again at news of an apocalyptic meteor shower. I took this opportunity to reconnect with my own friends from school, and collaborate with them on this intense three-month project. This was a first for me, as I was used to making films on my own. We went from speaking to each other every few months to virtually seeing each other every single week, thus creating even more wonderful memories in the process. Being able to watch the final result of this project with my team of close friends made me more appreciative of the time I was able to physically cherish with them and I hope “to the last of a dying breed” inspires you to do the same.
