In 2015, we invited travellers from all over Canada to send us their travel videos, for the chance to win $2,000 in travel and some great camera gear. This year, we’re upping the ante, and the winner of #travelcutsDOC 2016 could win $5,000 in travel. Join us on October 6 as we reveal the winner of this year's competition and unveil our latest travel experiences. Special guests G Adventures and Contiki will also be in attendance!

1. This contest is open to entrants from Canada (excluding Quebec). Entrants must be the age of majority
in their province to enter. To attend the FilmFest event on October 6, 2016, entrants must be 19+.
2. The promoter is travelcuts, whose registered office is at 111 Peter Street. Toronto, ON., M5V 2H1.
3. Employees of travelcuts, their family members, or anyone else connected in any way with the
competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
4. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

managed by travelcuts.
6. Closing date for entry will be Sept. 15, 2016 at 11:59:59 p.m. After this date, no further entries to the
competition will be permitted.
7. Travelcuts assumes no responsibility for entries not received for any reason, including but not limited
to technological failure.
8. Travelcuts reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions
without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual
or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of travelcuts’
control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible.
9. Travelcuts is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party
connected with this competition.
10. The prize: One $5,000 CAD travel gift card for use at travelcuts.
11. How to enter: Contestants will submit their short travel video for consideration from Aug. 18 – Sept.
15, 2016. All entries must be accompanied by a completed submission form, available at
a. Video requirements: Videos must be no shorter than 90 seconds, and no longer than 180 seconds.
Videos should ideally be 120 seconds and 1080p resolution (or higher). Stronger consideration will
be given to submissions fitting this length and video quality. Entrants must own all rights to their
video submission, including any music within. Videos submitted without legal rights to music and
content will be disqualified from entry. It is the responsibility of the entrant, and not travelcuts, to
confirm these rights. In the event of a copyright dispute, travelcuts assumes no responsibility for
the content of an entrant’s video. Finalists will be required to provide proof of licencing or public
domain for any music used.
b. Technical requirements: For consideration by travelcuts, videos must be uploaded to YouTube
under the entrant’s own account.
12. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to
availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without
giving notice.
13. Finalists will be chosen by a panel of bloggers as selected by travelcuts. The winner of the grand prize
will be chosen by most votes on social media.
14. The winner will be notified by email within 24 hours of the closing date for voting. If the winner cannot
be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw
the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
15. The promoter will notify the winner when, where and how the prize can be collected.
16. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no
correspondence will be entered into.
17. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Canadian law and any disputes
will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Canada.
18. The winner and finalists agree to the use of their name and image in any publicity material. Any
personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current
Canadian data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s
prior consent.
19. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
