Director Statement

“When I set out to make "The Grizzly Truth", I wanted to explore the arguments on both sides of the debate over grizzly hunting as objectively as possible.

What I have found, however, in the process of making the film is that there are quite a few myths about grizzly bears as well, which have been propagated over the years by both the hunting industry and the media. So I added Charlie Russell as a major character to the film since he spent 10 years with grizzlies in Russia and has found them to be quite predictable in their behaviour.

What I eventually created is a thorough examination of facts and myths about both the grizzlies and the controversial hunt of grizzly bears."
