Panos Tomadakis, 38, is an Athens-based aerial photographer and filmmaker. He found Tom Drones Aerial Cinematography in early 2016.
I find the sport of Windsurfing one of the hardest and most challenging things to film with an UAS. Not only, you have to fly far away from you very often (maintaining VLOS is very hard), but you have to deal with the extreme (for the drone) wind and the sea spray as well, which can be quite tough. Adding to all of the above that very often I had to fly with speeds of more than 70km/hour and at the same time follow and film a windsurfer, I am quite sure that the adrenalin levels of the rider and me were quite close. Filming moving objects is my passion, and the closer I get to these objects the more impressing the result seems to be.
