‘To be or Death of Ophelia’, adapted from Hamlet, also refers to Millais’ painting, tells the story of Hamlet, restricted to 8 simple body movements during the entire film, some of which refer to Alexandre Seon’s and Gustave Dore’s paintings, and with a countdown music; fading lifetime of the man and death of Ophelia while Hamlet was questioning and hesitating.
