Experiencing Interruptions?

Time is Art

This inspiring film follows the journey of a writer, compelled to make sense of the mysterious and powerful energy she felt at her aunt’s deathbed. Considering herself a skeptic, a series of strange coincidences leads her on an exploration of synchronicity – the concept that everything is interconnected and that time is not so much a chronology as it is an infinite cycle. Compelling conversations with fellow seekers Toko-Pa Turner, Richard Tarnas, Graham Hancock, Amy Lansky, Daniel Pinchbeck and Rupert Sheldrake as well as artists and activists guide us through the underlying premise of the film: perhaps we can tap into a way of being that is not ruled by a finite sense of time, but rather by the ability to live in harmony with the true creative nature of our existence.

Director Biography - Katy Walker, Joėl Mejia, Maia Monasterios

Katy is a Brooklyn based filmmaker that received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Transmedia from the University of Texas at Austin and has always seen herself as a multidisciplinary artist. Her first short films were screened at the Dallas Video Fest, SXSW, and more recently, the Red Hook International Film & Video Fest, the International Film Festival of Cinematic Arts, and the Radar International Independent Film Fest. She also runs a record label, maintains a music catalog, and contributes in any way she can, whether it be music, writing, behind the camera, editing or animation and graphics. She and her husband Joel formed Things Are Changing Productions for "seekers of conscious media". Katy is a student of spiritual philosophy and esoteric wisdom and was inspired to create her first feature documentary film after reading a book by visionary artist, José Argüelles, and visiting sacred Mayan sites and temples in Mexico. She has spent the last three years researching the subject of synchronicity, consciousness and related fields.

Director Statement

This idea that "time is money", it’s something that is buried very deep within our subconscious minds. Western materialist science tells us we have no greater purpose than to work, pay taxes and die. I believe we have a profound purpose in life that once discovered, we can make a living creatively instead of exploiting the planet and each other.
