Images are of essence: when it's about life or death, the only difference is light. Light is first and film knows that. Life is light and light is life. Life and dreams are images, film is made from the same material as memory and memory from dreams and dreams from life. When light shuts off, is there an image? What comes before light? What is there in life and death but light in the waiting. What is there in the film before developing but light in the waiting. A sepulchral silence as my friend Bruno would say –talking about photography and life at the same time.
