Tiago Almança (b. 1994, Madrid) is a Spanish/Portuguese filmmaker working primarily with Super 8 and 16mm film. His work explores personal thoughts, travel diaries, and intimate documentaries, often highlighting social issues and creating poetic and raw visual narratives through a blend of documentary and experimentation. His process is driven by spontaneity and chance: he approaches a subject out of curiosity or interest but without a predefined plan, allowing the camera to capture life as it unfolds. The narrative usually takes shape during the editing process, where he discovers the emotions, themes, and ideas he wants to convey.
