The Worst in The World

Documentary film “The Worst of the World” follows the research story of two students of Journalism on their journey to find out why journalist’s job is proclaimed for the worst job in the world, and why people generally have a very bad opinion about that profession.
As someone who finds himself in an important turning point, and we can say that studying at a high education institution is just that, and as someone who has great love and ambition for a chosen profession of journalist, these two students just do not want to settle with such an image of journalism - their future profession, and decide to go independently to find answers to the issues surrounding this topic.

Director Statement

Today, more than ever, journalist’s profession around the world is shaken, degraded and its mission is questionable. One part of our fellow citizens will tell about journalists that they are pawns in the service of the mighty; some will say that they are just victims of corruption and various lobbyistic economic/political pressures; while others will strikingly stand in defence of honest exceptions. But everyone agrees - the fact that the visibility and share of most media is raised by constantly maintaining an atmosphere of fear and repeatedly reporting on scandals, spectacles for masses, and folk one-off sensations, is undisputable. We are slowly but surely coming to a state where things are getting out of control, and we can only hope that the media will soon be aware of what kind of “image” they are exhibiting to the public and whether the notion of that image might provoke a change. Perhaps a documentary film made with love for the profession can be a small tool of the change.
