The World Has No Eyedea

Somewhere in his mid 20's Brandon Crowson got the idea in his head that he was supposed to tell stories for a living instead of working with his hands. So he started going to film school at MCTC in 2009. While there he learned as much as he could about editing, visual effects, and other skill sets that tie into video production. In 2010, Brandon started doing freelance work under the name Son Of A Crow Productions. In 2011 Brandon won the MCTC Production Excellence Award for his feature length screenplay, 'Poorman'. In 2012 Brandon received his Associates Degree in Screenwriting from MCTC. Rather than continue to rack up obscene amounts of debt for the privelage of an education, Brandon decided to make a go of indie film and freelance video production with the tools at his disposal.

Son of a Crow Production's bread and butter has largely been promotional and training videos for various businesses throughout Minnesota, including Sky Definition, The Bed Bug Guys, River's End Trading Company, The Home Energy Squad, T3 Construction Innovations, Crushkill Recordings, and many, many more.

While our work with local businesses keeps the lights on, Son Of A Crow Production's ultimate goal is to become the leading independant film company in Minnesota. To date we have created an award winning short comedy April 13th, which was picked up as an Official Selection of the PollyGrind Film Festival in 2013, and also won the Silver Screen Award at the Nevada International Film Festival that same year. Brandon's screenplay 'Poorman' also receieved an Honorable Mention at the PollyGrind 2013 Screenwriting Competition.

Brandon spent much of 2014 transitioning into making Son Of A Crow Productions a full-time job by establishing solid, ongoing business relationships with various clients.

In 2015, Son Of A Crow Productions began work on The World Has No Eyedea, a feature length documentary and webseries about deceased underground hip-hop legend, Micheal 'Eyedea' Larsen, Brandon's favorite rapper. While not only being an enormous career opportunity, The World Has No Eyedea is a passion project for Brandon.

Using social media Brandon was able to raise over $20,000 for the project in 30 days. The World Has No Eyedea is an Official Selection of the 2016 Minneapolis- St. Paul International Film Festival and the 2016 NYC Hip Hop Film Festival. We are awaiting responses from several other film festivals throughout the year and are also setting up our own premieres in conjunction with live music with DJ Abilities and Carnage The Executioner.
