I was born on June 29, 1994, in Johannesburg. I grew up as a missionary kid in northern Mozambique. After attending Rift Valley Academy, a boarding school in Kenya, I had the opportunity to cross over to the United States in order to study theatre and film production in Dordt College, in Iowa.
This film came from a variety of ideas that slowly worked themselves together. I wanted to explore ideas of grief and the stagnation which often come with heartbreak, but I wanted to look at it in a new light, playing with some genre conventions, and creating an introspective, meditative reflection on life. I hope you can take the time to appreciate the care and dedication that has gone into this piece, and the heart with which I and the creative team approached it.
Thank you.
