Private Project

the unseen sign

the unseen sign is a documentary dance film that traces the process of creation from the research phase to the rehearsals to the performance of the interactive dance performance "Die Seherinnen". The performance deals with our non-verbal communication behaviour and works on the bodily-gestural behaviour of a society in adaptation to the Corona measures in dance.
Using 16 representative video conversations as the basis for this examination, the intercultural team, consisting of four dancers, a composer, a choreographer, a dramaturge and two visual artists, explores how gestural body language shapes a person's individual expression and social communication. The results form the material for the artistic transformations of the choreography and the sound composition in the dance performance.
the unseen sign focuses on the situation of some of the interview partners before and at the end of the project. Questions include the significance of the encounter with the artistic team during the lock-down and the participants' impressions of the outcome of the project. On the other hand, the experiences of all those involved in the team during the development process are reported.
