Experiencing Interruptions?

The Street Academy

Hundreds of academics who have signed the petition of “Academics of Peace” have been dismissed from universities by statutory decrees subsequent to the declaration of a state of emergency in 2016 in Turkey. Academics have been deprived of their civil rights, prevented to work in the private sector and banned from leaving the country having their passports annulled, thus being confined to a civic death. In these circumstances, a group of academics in Ankara continued to give lectures on the streets, disobeying the protest ban. Those who roam the city with a blackboard on their back, those who think that freedom is more than just a word and those who want their eyes open in the photograph taken by history, are united in Street Academy - a class where the roof is the sky itself.
