Dhiman Sarbajna is an Indian director and producer, who has been making films with social messages since 2014. His principle works include Fanatic, Wishes of None and The Silver Lining, all of which deals with socially convenient issues. His second short, Wishes of None won the coveted Best Short Film award at Phoenix 2016, the official fest of FIEM. Apart from films, Dhiman works on video essays and documentaries. He is a final year undergraduate student of English Literature at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur and lives with his family in Kolkata, India.
The Silver Lining was conceived for the Swacch Bharat Movement in 2016, and during it's shooting I came across a certain section of people who lead their lives managing the filth left over by our civilized surrounding. This film is an ode to their struggle, the people who actually are cleaning the dirt and garbage of our community but remain marginalized and underpaid. Their children are growing up in a landfill of garbage and yet never falter to smile whenever they feel that they have managed to contribute to our society. This film is dedicated to those little heroes.
