Experiencing Interruptions?

The Paths We Take

We often see the great outdoors as a means of escape from the routine and constraints of our everyday lives. Despite the strength of this belief, how far do we ever get from the influences of the society and culture we are a part of, and how does this affect our philosophy, motivations and behaviours in the mountain environment?
Intended as a catalyst for deeper reflection and discussion, this short documentary comprises of the personal perspectives of fell-walkers on Helvellyn and Scafell Pike in the English Lake District. It concludes with the words of renowned Scottish nature writer Jim Crumley, who eloquently advocates the search for a deeper understanding of wild places.
