the orange tape

the orange tape is an eight-minute 16-mm-film, which was shot in autumn 2019 in Venice. The filming took place at different locations and at different times of a day. The camera was ope- rated manually, following an instinctive and playful approach – the camera seems to dance, as if in search for something, trying to capture images to write a poem with them. The precise Bolex camera serves as the tool to inscribe traces of the space into the filmstrip. The cutting takes place internally. Conny Frischauf transferred the properties of the film into sound- scapes. The film expresses a desire for a spatial quality, a tribute to the orange light, a gesture to the atmosphere of the city – a cinematic poem.

the orange tape ist ein achtminütiger 16-mm-Film, der im Herbst 2019 in Venedig gedreht wurde. An verschiedenen Orten wurde zu unterschiedlichen Tageszeiten gefilmt. Die Kamera wurde dabei händisch geführt und folgte einer instinktiven und verspielten Herangehensweise - die Kamera schien zu tanzen, auf der Suche zu sein, wollte Bilder aufzeichnen, aus denen sie ein Gedicht schreiben konnte. Die präzise Bolex-Kamera ist dabei das Werkzeug, mit dem die Spuren des Raums im Filmstreifen eingeschrieben werden. Der Schnitt ist kameraintern. Die Eigenschaften des Films wurden von Conny Frischauf in Klangebenen übertragen. Der Film ist Ausdruck eines Begehrens einer Raumqualität, eine Widmung an das orangefarbene Licht, eine Geste an die Atmosphäre der Stadt - ein filmisches Gedicht.
