Director Statement

The Meteor is a product of Charlie's love for thrillers, and Carson's passion for horror. Our goal was to make a film that pulls you in from the start, and doesn't let up for 8 minutes. On top of this, we set out to make a film that gives a platform to a strong female protagonist. We recognize that there is inequity in mainstream film when it comes to marginalized voices being heard, and as students/fans/scholars of this art form we seek to change that idea. Much of our focus went into giving the character of Halley Scott autonomy through editing and cinematography. The end result is a fast paced story with a strong female hero. Happy Meteor hunting!
