Sam is a London based director, producer and writer born in Kent, England.
Kickstarting his career at a post production house, running tapes for Madonna music videos, Sam left Soho for a job at a creative film agency called Praxima. Four years later he became a company director alongside Phil Thomas and Alex Drillsma, re-shaping the agency's vision and aspirations for the future. As a filmmaker he has directed the acclaimed short film Double Cross (2015) and the ground-breaking UK online TV series The Few (2016).
His directorial debut Double Cross (2015) starring Kyla Frye (Edge of Tomorrow (2014) and Sam Benjamin (Peaky Blinders (2013) made Official Selections at the British Urban Film Festival, Melanin Box Festival and SOUL Connect BFI Festival.
Sam's latest project as a director is The Cloaking.
Film is and always will be my first love.
I'm a true believer in the importance of telling stories that matter, inspire and affect people’s lives. From the moment I became too scared to step into the water (Jaws) and was blown away seeing a man able to leap over a tall building in just a single bound (Superman) I've wanted to dive into my own journey as a film maker.
I'm now a company director at Praxima, delivering the highest level of film production to television giants of the world such as the BBC and HBO, iconic brands such as Lexus and Armani and cinema commercials across London.
The end game for me is to inspire, encourage and overall entertain audiences in the same way that heavyweights such as Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan and Ridley Scott have inspired me.
