The Counselor

Hussein Omar started out his filmmaking career in 2007 with his first feature film called ‘The Game’. He was the producer, writer and director of the film. In 2010 he made his second feature film called ‘Campus Times’. He moved on to make his third film in 2012 which is a sequel of four parts called ‘Everyday People’. In 2013 he made his fourth film called ‘Dead End’. In 2014 he made his fifth film called ‘The Counselor’. In 2015 he co-directed two Television series called ‘The Hostel’ and ‘Five@Home’ while at Fast Track Productions. In 2016 he worked on the film ‘Dream America’. He has got a total of 22 nominations for films ‘The Counselor’ and ‘Dream America’. ‘The Counselor’ won best actress in the 2014 Pearl International Film Festival in Uganda. ‘Dream America’ won best feature film, best actor and best costume in the Pearl International Film Festival 2016. Hussein has worked as production assistant in a couple of short films, documentaries, TV commercials, Music videos and skits among other things.
